Aroma: Intensiv, süß und komplex. Schwarze Johannisbeere, brauner Zucker, Orange, Pflaume und Rosinen Aromen.

Im Nachklang frisch und fruchtig mit einer lange anhaltenden eichigen Süße.

Ausbau: Bourbon Casks, gefinished in Oloroso und Pedro Ximenez Sherry Casks

Besonderheit: Gefärbt. Der neue Threewood wurde auch in der Rezeptur verändert. War früher Port wood beteiligt, ist es heute Pedro Ximenez wood. Auchentoshan Distillery, entgegen eigenem Bekunden nicht mehr "home to Scotlands only triple distilled single malt whisky" hat nun auch einen relaunch erfahren und kommt völlig neu daher.

Seit Juni 2008 mit neuer range, neuer Verpackung und neuer Flasche, ist es die erste größere Veränderung seit 12 Jahren. Die range besteht jetzt aus dem alterslosen Classic, dem Three Wood, einem 12 jährigen, einem 18 jährigen und einem 21 jährigen. "The new bottle shape and packaging design is a radical move from its former traditional look. The design embraces its traditional heritage with the use of a thick base bottle to keep its weight and premium status, while the oval bottle shape is more simple and stylish to easily hold in one hand. Presented in beautifully pearlised packaging, the unique bottle shape and the use of strong contemporary colours aim to maximise its on-shelf presence and present a recognisable product range. The new look which compliments the soft, delicate and zesty taste profile, is set to appeal to a younger and wider audience of emerging malt consumers who enjoy trying the new and the best in an urban social scene."
